Vintage Karting

The idea of Vintage Karting was conceived while attending the 2016 Donington Historic Festival after signing up to become a member of the British Historic Kart Club. Seing first hand how club’s members preserved their history, encouraged me to do the same, as karting was a much practiced sport in Curaçao throughout the 1970-1990’s. Our goal is to preserve our karting heritage through demonstration events, exhibitions, and possibly even organize “vintage” races in the future.

About every month or so, SDDK Motorsports will bring its vintage 1965 Dart Rupp kart powered by a 1976 Biggs & Stratton 3 hp engine to a parking lot near you where we will set up a small course with traffic cones enabling us to give demonstrations. When appropriate we will allow a selected few to try the go kart(s) out.

Dates, times and locations will be announced on social media a couple of weeks before. This is not a commercial program and is free to spectators and participants.

The Vintage Karting Curacao program is active and we are awaiting the public’s participation. Do you have a child that would like to try out karting, just get in tough with us by calling 511-5615.
