The 2018 Harley Davidson Braggin’ Rights was held May 12 last and was again a success for we witnessed some great all out racing combined with degree of good sportsmanship rarely seen.
The night’s coveted bragging rights went again to Kenchie Berkemeyer who is the defending champ riding the V-Rod of Dan Diaz. Kenchie set the track ablaze with a 11.34 second run. Also, this year we introduced a prize for the best reaction time which was won by Joel Iltes.
A last minute addition was a bracket race in the spirit of good sportsmanship. We allocated some cash prizes and let them loose! And to top it of, the races were run old school style, in that the quicker rider started a couple of bike lengths behind the starting line. In the case of Kenchie, we told him he had to start all the way back in the water box. To which he agreed. Even so, he ran down the competition one by one. It’s fair to say that everyone enjoyed this “for fun” bracket race, which was won by Kenchie with Jonathan Ensermo taking the runner up spot on Rene Goncalves’ Night Rod.
Without the support of Valvoline, Spuit- en Uitdeukinrichting Scherpenheuvel, Asogas, Firgos, and Esperamos, this night of racing could not have been possible. Thanks a lot guys and gals.
