What started with a visit to the 2016 Donington Historic Festival got a step closer to realization on Sunday, May 5, 2019, for the very first outing of Vintage Karting Curacao was a success. Five excited kids, two girls and three boys, showed up with their parents and in turn made runs on the make shift track on the parking lot. They raced to their hearts content and left promising to be back.
The initial goal of Vintage Karting Curacao is to provide a platform for kids to try karting out, albeit in a vintage 1965 go-kart. The outing is completely free with complimentary drinks, etc. In due time we will add a Kali kart (presently undergoing restoration) for adults and older kids to race with.
Once the sport is back on its feet, the way it used to be from its inception in 1975 to the 1990’s, Vintage Karting Curacao will dedicate its efforts to promoting old style karting. As long as the go-kart is period correct, or close enough to a certain degree, it may form part of the group that will have periodically outings and other types of activities.

We are grateful to Napa Tire Center, Zeelandia, for allowing us to start with Vintage Karting Curacao outings on their parking lot, which fortunately has only one entry point and thus can be easily monitored for visitors. We will use this venue until the time comes that the outing needs to be relocated to a more adequate location.

The first person to drive the recently restored 1965 Dart Rupp Go-Kart, out of the stable of Vintage Karting Curacao. As one can see, there’s enough distance for a kart to stretch its feet…
