Hillclimb

After having our entire event’s calendar scrapped during 2020, with the exception of the “meet & greet” of a new Porsche 911 GT3, we are happy to announce that we will give Hillclimb Curacao 2021 a go! Of course, we do so with mixed emotions as we are acutely aware that a part of our society is struggling with economic hardship. But as with life, we must try to balance things out. Many of us have been helping out those in need, and with organising the hillclimb, we want to give these folks a chance to let off some steam; provide them with some degree of normalcy, even if it is only for a day.

We have chosen the tentative date to be August 14, approximately some 90 days after the end of the lockdown so that the participating drivers can get ready. Also, to allow us to organise a couple of “Advanced Driving Course”.

About organising this year’s race, our starting point is the health and safety of everyone involved. Accordingly, features will be added to resemble as much as possible our previous Hillclimb’s. Nevertheless, we will be financially restrained by the lack of corporate sponsorships. We will do our best but expect some features to be cut. Also, we’ve adapted the participation fee to include a spectator ticket.

The 2021 Hillclimb is scheduled for SaturdayAugust 14. Below you will find the important dates:

  • Sunday, June 27 or July 4 – Advanced Driving Course (optional)
  • Saturday, July 3  – Test day 1, 08:00 – 11:30
  • Saturday, July 17 – Test day 2, 08:00 – 11:30
  • TBA – Scruteneering at Micky’s Radiator & Muffler.

The Hillclimb Rules and Regulations remain unchanged, with the exception of the new COVID-19 rules. The participation fee for drivers will be Ang. 350,00 and will contain one free test day and one spectator entry ticket.

The previous Hillclimb held on April 13, 2019, saw not only an increase in participants but also in performance. New personal bests were set and the overall track record was smashed by the Nissan GTR numbered 35. Let’s find out if past winners will be de-throned!
